Peter Nevile, Corporate lawyer about. When asked to provide info for this article he said " You know what lawyers do so let me tell you about how and why we strive for a difference. "

Fran Campitelli, fashion stylist will be showing us how to dress with illusion, covering areas that need help and focusing on areas that are appealing. She’ll even come in and take charge of your wardrobe……. if you dare.

Caterina Borsato, Restaurateur, Caterina’s Cucina E Bar in the heart of Melbourne’s business precinct in Queen Street. Italian, passionate and presenter of Italian Regional Cuisine on Channel 31. Caterina will share her dream with us.

Mathew Anderson, Co-ordinator counter terrorism, Victoria Police. Matthew will present how to ensure continuity of business and inform us of things we should be aware of especially since nine eleven.

From ladybird to ladybird….

One male ladybird recently asked “What are male ladybirds called?” After extensive checking I am able to advise that male ladybirds are called ladybirds which is an example of nomenclature.

“Ladies, Take the time to look at the following information from Ladybirds Business Network. Ladybirds is aimed at career women wanting to connect, inspire and share our knowledge of business issues. I went to the last meeting and it was brilliant. They even give door prizes and goodie’s to take home!! Hope to see you at the next meeting on September 13th - breakfast at the Windsor, or the following meeting at Jwow on October 18th”. SB ANZ

It’s Spring.

Fabulous time of year and ladybirds love spring. Time to plant some santolina (white lavender) to attract the ladybirds. Our Ladybirds Breakfast Buzz on September 13 is exciting, new and best of all at The Windsor, one of Melbourne’s best.

Pencil in October 18 at Jwow to hear our special guest Katherine Teh-White, ladybird, and Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award in 2000 talk on the role of Corporate Social Responsibility in reducing regulation and improving the reputation of companies.

Katherine is a columnist in 'The Age' on enlightened self interest and is a former journalist at 'The Australian'. Katherine received a Public Relations Institute Golden Target Award in 1995 and is currently on the national board of WomenSpeak. She is also listed on Victoria’s Honor Roll of Women in 2003. Katherine will be dynamite to listen to.

Keep an eye on our website, there’s some really great ladybird merchandise about to emerge. Our Ladybirds gift cards are available now, pack of six $18.50 (inc gst)

Your feedback and suggestions are very supportive I hope you can join us for one of our upcoming ladybirds events.

Gremlins or Crazy Woman Syndrome?

Wired Woman ©

At our last ladybirds event in August, Women & Success, Pollyanna Lenkic took us through several stages of a working woman’s life which included the Crazy Women’s Syndrome, to dealing with gremlins. She even dared us to be average for day.

Is your gremlin this cute?

Pollyanna left us with these five points to success.

•Perfectionism is the road to misery.

Managing our gremlins frees us up to more, more creativity, more fun, more possibilities and more success in life.

•It’s important to identify our needs and have them met in a healthy way.

•Be clear about who you are, what you stand for and what you value.

•Create your own definition of success statement.

Pollyanna is currently holding workshops at Fenix on Women and Success, September 17th and 30th. Ladybirds receive 15% discount. To find out more pollyanna@perspectives.com.au

From the ladybirds anecdote book....

“I will tell you a secret….. (shhhh) I still love it when a little ladybird lands on me! I love watching it wander over may hand, across my fingers, along my arm, up to my shoulder and finally…eventually…if you are very very quiet and very very still and you look very very closely it will make a wishhh and land itself right in your heart.”
